Hi Linda,
Thank you for your timely & informative response. I've noticed that not until the 1900 census could one get an accurate year of birth. Before that, it depended on when ones birthday fell. I've seen censuses where the age varies a year, sometimes two.
I just found a page that lists some Chickasaw Nation marriages which lists three male Cables. One may be our J.T. Cable as age is about right. Perhaps these links may be of help to you as well:
