That would be the Joseph Cable who emigrated to Freemantle in 1856 as a pensioner guard? That is certainly the family that I am interested in. My interest is in Frances Cable, my 3xGreat Grandmother, born about 1805, she says in Leicester, but I have yet to find evidence of her birth and definite parentage. It is highly unlikely that she is not the sister of Joseph, since there is only the one Cable family in Leicester. However it is complicated by the fact that she acted as a witness to the marriage of a William Cable, who in the 1851 census claimed that he was born in Norwich, Norfolk. But the likelyhood of Frances and William being anything other than the children of William and Frances the parents of Joseph, is very low.
