My name is Eugene Caffrey. I have just begun the search process and noticed the mention of Sugar Notch in your posting. My father, also Eugene, spent time there with his father's family in the 1910-1920? time period. His father was Eugene, as well, and he lived his adult life in North Jersey where he married an Ellen Smith. But, I believe his father was from Sugar Notch. I do not know his name; but the names Michael, James, Helen and Eugene all resonate with me from conversations I remember overhearing among now deceased relatives. While your post mentions a James Caffrey only as a family friend, I would love to see the picture and examine it for any resemblance to my grandfather Eugene (of whom I have a couple of shots).
