Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My great-grandfather, Patrick J. Caffrey, immigrated from Ballycroy, County Mayo, Ireland in the 1880's. He settled in Sugar Notch, PA, near Wilkes-Barre. Also immigrating were his six siblings- two sisters, Ellen and Mary (I believe); one married a Dean, one married a Murray. He also had three brothers- James, Anthony, Michael and John. Michael, I believe, died a bachelor, but the other three married and had families. Perhaps one of these married a May, I would have to check with my grandmother. They all (except Michael) settled in the Wilkes-Barre area. I know also that my great-grandfather was a widower when he married my great-grandmother- I don't know the name of his first wife, but they had a son, and she died in childbirth. If any of this sounds familiar, please email me! :-)
