Col. John Canan had a son John Canan who had a daughter Elizabeth C. Canan. She was born abour 1828 in South Mohoning Township, Indiana County, PA. She married in 1839 to Thomas Stewart b: 1808 in Spruce Springs, Westmoreland Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania
