Cann & Cady - MA/Nova Scotia/NY

I tracked a Cann family from Nova Scotia living in Massachusetts in 1850 with a Henry Cady. It seems the Canns traveled from Nova Scotia to MA in 1848 - a "Mrs." Cann (no husband) with 3 of her four children. Mrs. Cann was listed as American but her children were all born in Nova Scotia.

By 1850 a "Mary" Cann was living with a Henry Cady, again with these three children but now also a fourth, Thomas, the oldest (b. 1836 Nova Scotia) who I believe to be my ancestor before his marriage in NY in 1860. I was not able to track this Cady/Cann family after 1850 but I did find Thomas Cann in NYC on the 1860C now married to my Parnella Wilkins.

Has anyone seen the name Cady connected to their Cann family? I have no proof this is the right family but my Thomas Cann gave birth place as MA and another time Nova Scotia so I think this can possibly be the right family. I am guessing that Mary married Mr. Cady when she arrived in MA with her 3 Cann children.

Any help would be appreciated.
