Abraham Lemaster bible/Newbold Cannon

Does anyone know why there would be a connection between these families? There is a Bible that can be found through worldconnect, in which Abraham Lemaster writes in 'his own hand' of his birthdate, John Lemaster's death (1799), of 'Abraham and his wife, Susuna, married 29, 1801,' and then there's a listing of the birthdates of Newbold Cannon, Srs, children.
Any help?
