Looking for connections to my Cannon branch - earliest confirmed ancestor George Cannon (also borne as Canan) born before 1800 and lived in Hampshire County, VA (now WV) - he married Ann Martha LNU 20 July 1820 - 5 children: Louisa E (1828); Thomas F (1833); John J (1836 my ggg-grandfather); Sarah F (1840); and Martin Van Buren (1844). I am part of a Cannon DNA project but unassigned so cannot connect to others - - - is anyone descended from this branch and can move farther back eg: George's ancestors? My John J had at least 13 children and many descendants remain to live in the Potomac Highlands of WV and those with whom I have shared info can move no further back than George - I live across the Potomac in neighboring western MD.
