Two sets of Cannons in Tennessee?

I have two sets of Cannon in-laws from Tennessee and I am trying to figure out if they are related.

John Holloway Hastings married Rachel Cannon (1812-1873), daughter of William Thomas Cannon, Jr. and Elizabeth Brown, in 1828 (probably Franklin County), a descendant of Jeremiah Cannon and Elizabeth Elam.

Then I have Walter Sutton Cannon (1863-1951), son of John Tillman Cannon of Bedford County, a descendant of Minos Cannon. Walter married Sarah Bergen in Kentucky.

Do these Cannons have a common ancestor?
