I am familiar with your John Milton Cannon, son of Russell E. Cannon and Elizabeth Powell (may or may not be correct mother). Russell E. was the son of Richard Cannon of SC and Habersham Co., GA. Please contact me for a family group sheet. Y-DNA analysis of 3 descendants of Russell E. Cannon show a very close match to my Cannon line: Simcock Cannon, b c1730/5 prob. VA-d. aft 1803 GA or NC, and Simcock's son Russell (c1752/3 VA - 1824 SC). It appears very likely that your Russell E. was a nephew of my Russell. This means that Richard and Russell were likely brothers. Simcock's wife was Jane Rudd. Her parents were John Rudd and Hannah (likely maiden name: Russell -- can supply evidence of this).
