Mary Carley, dau. of Cornelius Carley (a gunner in the Royal Artillery at Woolwich,London)married Stephen Dennard a Private in 17th. Lancers. Stephen's father also stephen Kennedy was also a Gunner R.A. at Woolwich. Marriage took place at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Woolwich 20.10.1851. Stephen Jnr served with 17th Lancers as a trumpeter, retiring as a Lance sergeant in 1860.

From there he held a civil position at The Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield, North London. He died in 1879 aged 60. Mary (Carley) Kennedy died in Enfield 7.10.1876 aged 47.

It is also noted that a newspaper obituary of the time commended SK's military service especially as he was one of the survivors of The Charge of The Light Brigage.

Any info on Mary Carley & Cornelius Carley + family gladly accepted. Mary was my 2xGt Grandmother.
