EMMA BUTCHER CASSITY
Posted by: Kathy Lacy (ID *****6997) Date: March 26, 2004 at 16:21:15
  of 43

I found the following obit in a cigar box that belonged to my grandfather and felt that I should share the info.

SERVICES ARE HELD FOR MRS. CASSITY
(My grandfather wrote 2-28-64.)

Funeral services were conducted yesterday for Mrs. Emma Cassity at the Shiloh Methodist church with the Rev. Amos Harmon, minister of the Shiloh church officiating and the Rev. Owen Cooper, pastor of Plummers Landing Methodist church assisting. Burial was in the Newman cemetery, near Shiloh.

Mrs. Cassity died Friday at 6 am at the Story Nursing home in Flemingsburg where she had been a resident for a year.

A native of Fleming county, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Minerva Goebel Mutcher. (should have been Butcher)

She was a devout member of the Plummers Landing Methodist church and all who knew her will be saddened by her passing.

The deceased is survived by a son, Allen Cassity, and two granddaughters, Emma Jo and Janice Cassity, of Dayton, Ohio. She also leaves three brothers, Basil and John Butcher, both of Plummers Landing; and Allen Butcher, of Cleveland.

Arrangements were in charge of the McClure Funeral home at Flemingsburg.
