I am in search of information on my g-g-grandfather Herman Schmidt I know he was born abt. 1878 possibly in Preussen, Germany and died 1952 in Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois he was buried in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois. I'm not exactly sure when or whom with he would have immagrated with, but I do know that in the 1900 census for Illinois it lists his mother as Mary(maiden unknown) Schmidt and the father as "Germaner". The one piece of for sure solid information I do have is that he married Omah Bessie Armstrong on November 15, 1905 in Belleville, St Clair, Illinois. I also know that she was born May 6, 1889 in Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois. I also know that she passed in May 4, 1972 in Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville, Illinois and that she is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois. I do also know that Herman Schmidt died around 1952 and is buried in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Perry County, Illinois. I also know that they had two sons Joseph Eugene Schmidt was born August 21, 1906 Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois, and Woodrow Cecil Schmidt born December 7, 1912 also Belleville, St. Clair County, Illinois. I know the names of Omah Bessie's parents are Thomas Bine Armstrong and Jane Kezia Pierce.
