The above link is the will of Robert Green, land speculator. I can now trace the exact land that Henry Henry (born ca 1734) purchased 1763 from William Chestnut(t) in Augusta, later Rockingham Co., VA . I can trace the land back to at least 1744. The land would have been in Orange before Augusta was formed, and it was later Rockingham. I believe the land is near where the town of Mt. Clinton is today. The exact land bought by Henry Henry is mentioned in the above will:
Sixthlt. I give and bequeath unto my son, Nicholas Green, and his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract of land and plantation wherein Bryan Keegan {I believe he was the person who was much later, 1779, in Augusta listed Vol. III Chalkey's index as Henry (Kenney), Bryan-Meaning that whoever did the index knew he was not a Henry-Doris} formerly did live, near to the foot of Red Oak mountain on Cannon's river, containing by patent 300 acres . As also one-half that tract of land containing seventeen hundred acres on the branches of Muddy creek at the foot of North mountain, in Augusta county. . .
From Chalkey's Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish, Vol. III, Augusta Co. VA Deed Book 10:

Nicholas Green, of Culpeper, to William Chesnut,£132, 400 acres, part of 1700 acres granted to Robert Green, deceased, 15th March 1744 {This is date of grant, not death date-Doris} on head branches of Muddy Creek, Daniel Callachan's Meadow. Delivered: Gawin Hamilton, March Court, 1774.

land on Green's old line; line of Wood's land. Delivered: Andrew
Johnston by your order, March, 1770.
Deed Book 19 Augusta Co. VA:

page 11- 18th November 1772. William Chestnutt to son John Chesnutt, part of 400 acres conveyed to said William by Nicholas Green, on Muddy Creek; Wood's corner. Delivered: Jno. Chesnutt, 5th April, 1779.
Deed Book 22 Augusta Co. VA:
Page 41.--19th August, 1777. Thomas O'Neal to Henry Henry.
Delivered: Jesse Harrison, March, 1783. (I think this land probably joined Henry Henry's previously purchased land. Anyone descend from these O'Neals? They are a riot-often in trouble with the law!!-Doris)
It appears that Henry Henry lived on this land on Muddy Creek, Augusta Co/Rockingham Co., VA, from the time that he bought it in February 1763 until his death in ca 1799. I think that he must have been related by blood or marriage to the Chesnut(t) family. Some of the Chesnut family came as did Henry Henry's son William Henry to Greene Co. TN near Tusculum. They were associated with the Allison family and the Blake families (also from Augusta/Rockingham) as was William Henry. Ewen Allison was bondsman to a Chestnut-Blake marriage and to William Henry and Agnes Allison's marriage bond in 1791 Greene Co., TN. Ewen Allison is believed to be the son of David Allison, Sr., and thus the brother of Agnes Allison. Of course, William Henry owned land at Shady Grove, Dumplin Creek, Jefferson Co.,TN, at the time that Jefferson Co. was formed from Greene Co. He married second Jefferson Co. TN 1811 to Sallie (Sarah) Jones.
I am making some progress on this Henry line. I purchased the three hard back volumes of Chalkey's and read them until I can't keep my eyes open each night. I realize the three volumes are on-line, but I get more out of the perusal of the hard back books. When the facts are taken out of isolation, put in a chronological list, and then researched on http://www.google.com results materialize quickly. I must see at least 50 surnames in Chalkeys that go on my tree or my children's paternal tree!
