Hi there, I'm looking for help in locating an ancestor. All I know is he was named George Allan and fathered a daughter called Margaret Allan in the parish of Maryton, outside Montrose, Angus/Forfarshire, Scotland in 1797. The child's mother was named Theresa Campbell. George & Theresa never married. Theresa went on to marry a Mr Milne and a Mr Black and died in Montrose in 1840. Her daughter Margaret Allan married Alexander Campbell and they had sixteen children. I'm one of their many descendants. Anybody out there have a seafaring George Allan in the family who may have been in Montrose in 1796? Thanks, George Hebenton |
