FYI: There is a nice portrait of Allexander McD. Allan posted on DeadFred.com: http://www.deadfred.com/surnamePersR_05.php?ID=83329 This portrait of Mr. Alexander McD. Allan appears on page 5 (along with some biographical info) of The Canadian Horticulturist, vol.XI, no.1, 1888. He was a prominent Canadian horticulturist and was president of the Ontario Fruit Growers' Association. He was born July 11th, 1844.
