Are you sure it's Glasgow? There was a Thread Street in Paisley, near Glasgow from the end of the 18th century until the 1960s when the whole street was demolished. However I can find no Thread Street for Glasgow. Paisley was famous for its thread industry. I had Allans in Thread Street, Paisley until about 1869. These were ALEXANDER and JANE ALLAN and their children John and Janet. Alexander's brother William lived there until about 1840. judi
