Hi, Janet--Just checked the copy of the Voluntown, New London County, Connecticut Vital Records, & there is no James Allyn listed as being born in Voluntown, Ct. Most of the Allyns were from North Groton (1784), now the town of Ledyard, Connecticut. Also, as far as I know, we`re the only town in the United States with the name of Voluntown. I live in Voluntown. Good hunting! Roz
