Alanson was my gg uncle. His father, (my gg grandfather) Abijah Allyn was born 6 Mar 1794 to Peleg and Mary Lobdell Allyn. Abijah married Catharine Hooper 9 Mar 1819. About 1820, the Allyn family moved from Cayuga Co., NY to Posey Co., IN, where they had 15 children, of whom 12 lived to adulthood, married, and had families of their own. Abijah died 1 Feb 1874 and Catharine died 27 Jan 1853. Alanson Allyn died 10 Mar 1890 in Posey Co., IN and Mary Chalier Allyn died 22 Nov 1918 in Eldorado, Saline Co., IL. Alanson and Mary had eleven children: Josephine, Matilda, Anson, Taphenis, Emanuel, Cora, Burtis, Bertha, Stella, Ezbon, and Alison. Burtis and Alison died young. Stella and Emanuel were married but had no children. The rest married and had families of their own.
