Willard Guthrie, 93, of passed away Sunday morning, March 29, 2009, at Signature Health Care in Rogersville, Hawkins Co TN. Born August 31, 1915, he was a prominent farmer in Hawkins County and was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Bailey Guthrie; two brothers, Harlan and Burl Guthrie; sister, Alyne Livesay; two brothers-in-law, M. T. Livesay and Wilbur Lawson; sister-in-law, Molley Berry; and niece, Carolyn Bruce. He is survived by his sister, Mamie Blondell Lawson of Bulls Gap, TN; nephews, David and Ronnie Livesay, and Larry Lawson; and nieces, Cheryl Lawson and Debbie Shoun. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Persia Community Cemetery with Rev. John Arnott officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Persia Community Cemetery.
