Born February 18th, 1947, Mr. Denney was preceded in death by his parents, James Denney and Bea Denney; and father-in- law, Carl Bailey. He was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a loving and faithful wife of 43 years, Barbara Bailey Denney; one daughter and son-in-law, Marcella and Donnie Smith, of Goshen Valley, TN; one son and daughter-in-law, Marvin 'Jake' and Robin Denney, of Watauga, TN; two granddaughters and spouse, Heather and Chris Green, of Watauga, TN, and Hannah Denney, of Watauga, TN; one special great-grandson, Corey Landon Green; two special individuals of the home, Riley Carter and Ronnie Mabe; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, J. R and Linda Denney, of Victoria, TX, Clarence and Kathy Denney, of Chuckey, TN, and Keith Denney, of Chuckey, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Marella and Chris Ayers, of Greeneville, TN; his mother-in-law, Princie Bailey, of Greeneville, TN; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff of Indian Path Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 2 p.m., at Jeffers Chapel. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Earl Bailey, Rev. Donnie Shelton and Rev. Richard Bailey will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Conny Bailey, Larry Bailey, Mike Bailey, Carl Lee Bailey, Robert Bailey and Jason Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bailey, Bill Bailey, Andy Hensley, Robert Kirkpatrick. Family will receive friends Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., May 1, 2009, at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service. Services will be 2 p.m. at Jeffers Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, May 2, 2009.
