My ggggrandfather was James Baines married Margaret(from Dublin) approx 1810 in Manchester, England. Their children were William 1811, Mary Ann 1818, Margaret 1821, Anastasia 1821, Veronica 1826, James (my gg grandfather)1830. James (my gggrandfather)married Margaret Quinn 1850 in Manchester. Their children were Margaret 1852, James 1854, Jessie (my ggrandmother)1855, Frederick 1857, Pauline 1860, Francis(emigrated to Australia and was murdered) 1861, Lucy 1864 and Charles 1866. James re-married after the death of his first wife to Mary. Their children were Mary 1874, Elizabeth 1875, Alice 1877 and Joseph 1880. All of the children born Manchester/Salford area. Jessie (my ggrandmother) married a John Greenhalgh and they had Harriet 1878, Pauline 1882, Ann ?, and Frances 1888 (died aged 17 years) The children of first marriage are lodging with older sisters, Margaret(now Oddie) in Blackburn and Jessie in Salford - was this because of the second marriage. I do not know where James Baines ggggrandfather was born as he is not on the 1841 census and would like any help in this direction. Ggggrandfather or gggrandfather was an artist my mum saw an oil painting which was a self portrait but do not know which member this is - also believe there is a French connection but cannot find. Any information appreciated.
