I am related to a family of Baines' from Liverpool. William Baines (1792-1829) m. Mary ( pos. Picton). They had William b.Mar. 16, 1814, MAry Picton b. Aug 1, 1818, James b. Oct. 22, 1822, and John b. Jun 13, 1827. Mary Picton Baines m. my gggrandfather John Grant Morris Aug. 4, 1825. Is this your family? James Baines m. Anne Netherton. He owned CLipper Ships of the Australian Black Ball line. There is some information on-line about him.
