Hi Dixie, I know this is an old post, but I just joined Genealogy, and I was looking for some stuff for my family and I found your post. My great-grandfather was Jeter Pritchard Baines (he dropped the 's' after he was married). He is the son of Samuel Greenburg Baines and Balsura Nations. As far as I know, we have had the 'e' on our name since Samuel G. and Balsura. I would be very interested in any other information you might have on the Baines family tree. Thanks so much!
