Hello, I have been trying to sort out the different claims on the parents of Richman/Richmond Baines who married Mary Murphy in Greene Co. AL. Some claim local histories and DAR papers place him as the son of the Rev. Thomas Baines. I can't substantiate this. It seems more likely that Richmond is the son of a Greene Co. Baines. Richmond names a son, Simeon and have found a Simeon Baines in the 1850 NC census. Could he have been a brother of Henry and Richman? My husband descends from John Parker Baines of Pickens Co. AL who married Mary Price. So anxious to solve this puzzle. Thank you.
