Robert, Thanks so much for your reply. I don't have much data on my Barrera line. Lucas Barrera was born circa 1800 in Mier, Mex. the son of Andres Barrera and Anita Pelagio. Lucas married Maria de Jesus Zamorano in 1846 in Mier. They were the parents of ten children. They were: Raul, Clemente, Paulino,Francisca, Lucia, Antonio, Leandro, Petra, Julius, and Clemencia. By 1870, Lucas and Jesusa and family were residing in Duval Co. Tx. There has been some discussion about who the father of Lucas was. Some records say that one Rafael Barrera was his father. Francisca Barrera, daughter of Lucas, was born in Mier on Jan. 9, 1853. Her padrinos when she was baptized were Andres Zamorano and Juanita Zamorano. Her padrino for confirmation was Tiburcio Barrera. The above Francisca Barrera was later married to Francisco Ramirez, son of Tiburcio Ramirez Garcia, member of an early Mier family.
