Henry Pierson Brendle was my ancestor. All I know is that the original Brendle brothers came from Holland and settled in North Carolina. Nannie Gertrude Brendle (my grandmother)used to tell me about Henry--that he was shot during the war and walked for miles to get home. She also told me about how he cleared acres of land by himself. If anyone can add more to the family history, I would appreciate it very much.
