Dear Barbara, My name is Brian Anderson. I descend from John Bro/Broe/Brow/Browe (all spellings appeared in the records). John was born in Quebec abt 1844 (place unknown)(the 1901 census of Ontario has his birth as March 19, 1838? year hard to read).He Married first an Ontario born girl Annie Smith and had his two oldest sons in MA (John b. Jan. 10, 1868 and Joseph b. abt 1873) The family then moved to Kent Co., ON Canada and had 3 more children: George b.abt 1875; Edward b.Jan. 4 1878 and Nancy Annie b. Dec. 7, 1879 (year from 1901 census). Annie Smith Broe died around the time of Nancy's birth, and John married again 1891 to Catherine McIntyre. She died in childbirth along with her son Robert 1891. I do not know if any of this is familiar to you. Did your family ever talk about other Broe's (French) in the area, or relatives who went to Ontario? Brian
