Nathan and Mary Ann (HOOKS) BROOKSHIRE were among Stephen F Austin's "Old Three Hundred" colonists about 1821 in Texas. I have searched for her lineage but have had little success, though one source said she was born in SC. Carl Brookshire (thank you, sir!) said he has nothing more about her. The Handbook of Texas Online has more than a little information on Nathan, but nothing on Mary Ann. I would be most appreciative of any information regarding her, as she is the first Hooks in Texas that I'm aware of, though probably of no kin to me I'm most interested! Thank you, and I'm hoping.
