Many thanks to Robert for his information and research! My husband is descended from Gilbert and Ann Champenois Brundage. According to their tombstone inscriptions (Unionville Cemetery, Westchester Co., NY, posted online)Gilbert was born 17 Mar 1776 and Ann was born 12 Aug 1779 and not in 1786. As their first child, Ightman Brundage, was born on 30 Jul 1797, her birthdate in 1779 seems to be correct. However, in 1850 Gilbert states he is 72 years old and Anne said she was 67--go figure. In 1850, they are living in a double. On the other side of the double is their grandson George Brundage, son of Ightman, and his family. Gilbert and Anne Champenois Brundage had the following known children: Ightman, m. Phoebe LNU Frost, b. 1799 Mariah Ann, b. 1805 (d. unmarried) Hiram, b. 1812 (d. umarried) An Alpheus and a John Brundage also seem to be associated with this family, but their relationship is yet to be determined. I have more on this line if anyone is interested. Ann |
