I am seeking any information regarding Mrs. Sarah (Charman) Berrey- wife of William ("Ambler"?) Berrey. Sarah is my paternal 3rd great-grandmother.

Mrs. Sarah (Charman) Berrey and her husband William had eleven children, and spent the remainder of their lives residing in Ontario, Canada.

They departed England about 1838 or 1839, arriving in the United States. Their surname may be listed in the ship log or mainfest list as "BERRY" or "BARRY"- a common practice of mispelling the "BERREY" surname during that time period.
Upon entering the USA, the family took passage through New York, up the Hudson River to Albany. Then, took passage via Erie Canal to Utica, and overland to Niagara Falls, where they continued to new opened territory in Brampton, Ontario.

William Berrey may attempted "farming" and is not known how successful he was at it. Although, we do know that one of his sons- REUBEN BERREY- had mentioned for his 1899 biography published in Colorado that he farmed during the summer to help with the chores.

Any information regarding the relatives in England of Ms. Sarah Charman will be greatly appreciated. I have further details of the BERREY family, if interested.
