Obit.:John Jasper CHRISTENBERRY died Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of his cousin, J.K.Tubeville, Mill Creek Valley Road. Aged 86 years. Mr. CHRISTENBERRY had gone from the Old Soldiers' Home to visit Mr. Turbeville when he died suddenly from heart disease. The body was conveyed back to the home, where following services conducted by the Rev. W. T. Cunningham at 2 o'clock this afternoon, he was buried in the home graveyard. Mr. Christmenberry had been at the home several years. He formerly lived at Huntingdon, TN. He served in Forrest's Calvary during the Civil War. Goodman as mother in the 1910 Mobile Co., AL Census. Mary C. CHRISTENBERRY filed an application in Mobile Co., AL to receive a pension on W.S. CHRISTENBERRY (Co. A 15h Tenn) 8/26/1914. J.J. CHRISTENBERRY "swore" the application 7/20/1914 as "being personally acquainted with W. S." The birthdate and age for "Helen" and Catherine M. do not match but one may be incorrect. The author suspect these four names are all for the same person, but there is the possibility William S. had more than one marriages. 7. Reported by Louise Grant as "Killed in a duel -name of opponent (also reported as killed) and reason unknown". Note:‚ A Mrs. Christanberry is listed as a land owner in Humboldt (TN) in 1877, bound on the Northeast by Sharpe St., on the South by Mitchell St. and on the Northwest by L.N.& G.S. R.R. This Mrs. Christanberry would appear to have been the surviving wife of Medicos Moses (Jim), Susannah Myracle or the wife of William S. CHRISTENBERRY.
