Mr Gillespe: I really appreciate your help. I do not know where you found the info, but I really appreciate your expertise. I did not know that he was a 1st Lt. His sword was presented to him by his men. It is on display at an elementary school named for Lt. Bowerman, here in Springfield, MO. Thanks for your help. brian
