I researching my Spencer line in VA. My John Spencer (whose brother was Abraham), died in Albemarle Co., VA 1788-89. His wife was Rosannah Graves.

Would like to find out if these Albemarle Co. Spencers are related to the Spencers of Surry Co. (1600's)

There was a William Spencer in Surry, VA (1600's) with daughters only, but, William's nephew Nicholas also came to American a few years later. When this Nicholas went back to England, it is said that he left his son John Spencer with a Wm. Cockerham.

Thanks to anyone who might want to share their info with me.

Sherry
