I'm still looking for proof of this marriage which may have taken place in Mecklenburg Co., NC, in the 1770s or 1780s. They later lived in Mercer Co., KY. I have seen only one brief reference to this supposed marriage with no documentation! Susan was supposedly the daughter of Hans Michael GUTKNECHT/GOODNIGHT and his first wife. She was b. about 1751, probably in Germany before the family came to America. If I can prove this marriage, I would have a connection to President Harry Truman. Pat Shemenski mamaski2@cs.com
