For the attention of all those who attended the Conder reunion in Kendal, UK, in 2000: I'm very sorry to have to announce that Jay died in his sleep on 28th July while on holiday in Spain. He was buried on Friday 11th August in the churchyard of St Peter's Church, Mansergh, a few hundred yards from the family home at Terry Bank, Old Town. I'm not a Conder, but have been a close friend of Jay's since we met at New College, Oxford, in 1964. Nigel
