I am seeking assistance in reseaching my branch of the Cripps Family Tree. My great grandfather, Charles Casbourn Cripps, born 1850, married a Caroline Howkins/Hokins/Hawkins in 1870. Charles' father, Henry Casbourn, was an innkeeper/victualler in Oxford, and married a Jermimah Hunt or Middleton depending on who you believe. Connections have been made to Kintbury Berkshire. It is believed that Charles had brothers Joseph and William and a sister Esther. There do not appear to be any Casbourns as a surname in Victoria, Australia, but they exist in USA. A John Casbourn Cripps, daughter Eliza Casbourn Cripps existed in the 1800-1850s but no connection established as yet. Any assistance would be appreciated. Jeff Cripps |
