I am looking for a starting place to research my mother's family. My mother, Ellen Cunane Gerriets, died recently at the age of 87. She believed that she was an orphan and had no living relatives, but we think that may be wrong. She was born March 13, 1913, in the Wilmington, Delaware, area and went to school there through high school. Her family was Irish Catholic, probably from County Mayo or County Roscommon. Her father may have been named John. She was raised by an Aunt Annie (Kennedy?), and spoke of an Aunt Cecelia. Any help would be very much appreciated.
