Hi Sue - From the Dalby records which I have of the births, deaths and marriages of Linton, Spofforth and Wetherby, it shows that Matthias, son of Richard DAULBY of Linton was baptized at Wetherby Chaper on February 1, 1782. James, son of Matthew DALBY of Spofforth by Ann (daughter of Benjamin WOOD) was born December 11, 1809 and baptized January 6, 1810. Other children of Matthew and Ann listed are: Elisabeth, daughter of Matthew Dalby, Weaver of Spofforth, by Ann (daughter of Benjamin Wood) born August 21, 1805 and baptized November of 1805. George, son of Matthew and Ann was born February 14, 1809 and baptized May 14, 1809 Hannah, daughter of Matthew and Ann, was baptized July 18, 1813 (no mention of birthdate) Mary, daughter of Matthew and Ann, was baptized September 14, 1817 (no mention of birthdate) Isaac, son of Matthew and Ann, was baptized September 14, 1817 (no mention of birthdate and obviously both Isaac and sister Mary were baptized together on the same date) Ann, daughter of Matthew and Ann, was baptized February 13, 1820 ( no mention of birthdate)(an Ann Dalby of Linton, age 9, was buried at Spofforth on May 14, 1829, the same day as Martha Dalby(see below), age 2 was buried - perhaps there was an epidemic going around at that time) Agnes, daughter of Matthew and Ann was baptized June 12, 1823 (no mention of birthdate) William, son of Matthew and Ann, was baptized June 19, 1825 (no mention of birthdate) Martha, daughter of Matthew and Ann, was baptized July 1, 1827 (no mention of birthdate)(died and was buried on May 14, 1829 at age 2) Martha, daughter of Matthew and Ann, was baptized December 12, 1830 (no mention of birthdate) Matthew Dalby was buried at Spofforth on April 15, 1853 and was 71 years old Two Ann Dalbys were buried at Spofforth who could be Matthew's wife. One was buried June 13, 1853 (age 86) and one was buried November 17, 1861 (age 81 - my guess is on her). Matthew Dalby married Ann Wood (both of the Spofforth Parish) on November 5, 1804.
