Is there any research available that pins down the birthplace, parents, of John DOWNER who MAY have been born NY. Did serve RW. Buried in Pownal, VT and married Lydia DUNHAM. Last I heard father MAY have been William and mother MAY have been Amy GOFF. The DUNHAM Genealogy says "John DOWNER, Oct 27 1744....; son of Willim b 1710 and Amy DOWNER who LATER m a GOFF, etc.... Any thoughts appreciated. julie bright
