Julie, Currently, noone has been able to determine the origin of John Downer's parentage. I am researching this line along with the New England line and there has been no connection from John to Joseph and Robert Downer from Massachusetts. I am convinced that they are connected, however. Which line are researching from John and Lydia. Thanks much! Teresa Henslee-Downer
