" The Shepherdstown Register " and Jefferson County Advertiser. Shepherdstown, Jefferson County, WV. Sat. May 26, 1877 - Briefs Maj. S. W. Downer, who was clerk at the Harper's Ferry armory before the war, died at Huntington, W. Va., a few days ago. He had been the editor of the Advertiser there.
