This a shot in the dark. Does anyone know any more about the ancestry of this William Downer ? Born in about 1781, he executed his will on 24 November 1837 and died in Portsea in Hampshire on the following day. He was described by as a mercantile clerk. He was married in Saint Luke's Church, Old Street, Finsbury in London on 9 November 1828 to Sophia Jordan.
