Gus, I recently became a member of this site and based on your information I believe my father (Antonio "Tony" Eliff) was your uncle, brother by blood to our aunt Lila; therefore making you and I cousins. My father was born Dec 27, 1932 and died Jun 26, 2000. He never spoke much about his life, but the little info I know matches exactly what you said here in your post. I believe that I am actually named after our aunt Lila given that my name is also Pearl Eliff, and I remember my father once saying that I was indeed named after a sister of his. However, if you notice, my last name is spelled with only one L because I think my dad changed it when he was younger right before or during his time served with the Air Force back in 1950 or so. To be honest, as a child, I remember only meeting a handful of people in my father's family but do not clearly remember whom those people were-one of these family members might have actually been our aunt Lila. I would tremendously appreciate it if you would share with me any info you might have on my father or our grandparents or anybody in our family at that. I also live and work in the Rio Grande Valley (Mission) right now. Regards, Pearl.
