This posting is for descendants of William John Griffin and Mary Ann Palmore who married 26 Dec 1847 in Cherokee Co., GA, before residing in adjacent Forsyth Co., GA. The birth of their 9 children, listed below, tracks their migration westward, ultimately to Justice Twp., Rusk Co., TX, where they were living in 1900 with son Henry, his wife and 5 children:

William John "Jack" Griffin b. ABT 1850 in Forsyth Co. (probably), GA; m. Rhoda Caroline Carpenter
George Griffin b. ABT 1853 -ditto-
James Newton "Toby" Griffin b. ABT 1855 -ditto-
Franklin "Frank" Griffin b. ABT 1858 -ditto-
Henry Finley Griffin b. Apr 1860 Morgan Co., AL; m. Naomi
Nancy Angeline Griffin b. ABT 1863 -ditto-
Thomas J. Griffin b. ABT 1865 -ditto-
Dock B. Griffin b. ABT 1867 -ditto-
Mary Elizabeth Griffin b. 22 Jun 1872 at Iuka, Tishomingo Co., MS; m. Smith Anderson Kent

Only 7 of these children lived until 1900. Mary Elizabeth Griffin is my maternal grandmother, who married my grandfather ABT 1894 probably in Henderson, Rusk Co., TX, where their first child was born in 1895.
