Charles: Don't know if we have corresponded before; like to check in on the Kemp family. I have done a lot of research on the Kemps, and it has been a struggle. John Scott has done more than me.
However, I did find something that may be of interest to you. In Don Shadburn's book "Pioneers of Forsyth Co", an obit. for Louella M. Kemp (d. June 3,1891) : wife of John W. Kemp and dau. of D.P. and M.C. Major; she leaves a husband, four children, father, mother, brothers, sisters, ...{Mrs. L. Kemp b. Oct 10, 1859 is buried at Haw Creek Bapt. Ch. cem. near her parents Daniel P. Major (1826-1897) and Martha C. Rainwater (1832-1917) } [Louella M. Major marr. John Westley Kemp 13 Feb. 1879 Fors. Cty.]

Also in "Pioneers" (pg. 144, History of Mt. Tabor Bapt. Church): Male members (1856 and 1859 revised list): ........ Aaron Kemp, John W. Kemp, Andrew Jackson Kemp; Female members (1856)....Vianah Kemp, Sarah Kemp..

Solomon Kemp had: son Augustus M. (b. 1840) marr. Amanda J. Samples, had ch.: J.W. (b. 1859); is this your John W. who marr. Louella Majors?

As with many families, there are too many Johns, Sarahs, Marys, etc.

Hope this info is useful...Contact me if I can help further. Pat
