Lewie, two things: my grandmother Ione Thurmond was born in 1910 and her parents were tennent fathers for a Mr. Henderson until they moved to Rabun in 1928. I am not sure if your house is the same or not. It was a two story with a creek near by. The other is maybe more interesting. I got ths from the Holcomb A nation's Builder by McPherson. Sherwood Holcomb(e), who was a RWS in the SC line, married Jane Kieth. Had a son named Jesse who married Susannah Rusk. They are supposedly burried at Blue Creek. Jesse died 1862. Could this be the Jess you mentioned? Jesse and Susannah had 12 kids, one son was Benjamin Cleveland whose daughter, Dona or Donie married James Maxwell Allen whose sister was Laura A. Allen and was Ione Thurmond's grandmother. I think I saw were Sherwood had a land grant for service in Habersham--amybe it is the same. Do you think it is possible that it is the same place?
