I'm hoping someone on this board could help me- My aunt- Marion Grimshaw (b.1905 England, d.1984 NJ, USA) was married for a short time to Pliny E. Goddard. According to the marriage certificate I have, they were married Feb. 23, 1933 in Suffern, NY and divorced March 10, 1936 in New Jersey. The marriage certificate states that they were both from Passaic, NJ. I'm looking for information about Pliny. I've seen books by an anthropologist by this name, but he was writing books around 1900, and I can't imagine it would be the same person. Would anyone have any clues as to who this could be? Thank you!
