This is all fascinating stuff. Would like to get your sources for the fact that the Grevilles originally came from Denmark. The hamlet of Greville is in La Manche Normandy. Of course, I don't really know, but my intuition was that the family spread to Britian (I have no evidence that they came with the Conqueror, but obviously you have) and to other countries such as Holland aka Grewell or Grawel and Norway as Grivilius. Nils Grevillius was a famous Norwegian musical conductor. |
