I am seeking contact with any descendants of David Hackett of 18th century Pennsylvania. David was likely born in Northern Ireland (a/k/a Ulster), possibly in Antrim, probably between 1700 and 1720. He was probably of Lowland Scottish ancestry, and therefore a Presbyterian and "Scotch-Irish". The sequence on his marriage, the birth of his first few children, and the date of his emigration to Pennsylvania is uncertain. He seems to have arrived at one of the ports along the Delaware River (either Philadelphia, or perhaps nearby in New Castle, Delaware). He may have remained in southeastern Pennsylvania for a time, but eventually moved (before the Revolution) to the Susquehanna River valley, settling on the West side, near the mouth of Sherman's Creek and/or the Junitata River. Using census data and information from submissions to the Latter Day Saints website, genforum and rootsweb (plus other websites found through google), I have constructed the following list of descendants. As should be obvious, some of this is "educated" guesswork, and so requires further research. It should NOT be taken as proven fact, but as a starting point for further investigation.
